We have several integrated problem-based scenarios for early elementary.  Each one walks through a real life scenario while incorporating all core subject areas.  All instructions, handouts, and resources are provided:

The Baseball Field

Students will make decisions about whether to build a baseball field on an empty lot and all of the steps involved.

The Butterfly Garden

Students will explore the issues involved with building a butterfly garden at the school.

The Field Trip

Students will plan a field trip, including the destination, logistics, and schedule for the outing.

The Classroom Mascot

Students are in charge of choosing a mascot that best represents their class.

Outdoor Recess

Students will consider how sun exposure can be a limiting factor in the amount of outdoor recess students can have, and what can be done about it.

While the integrated scenarios provided above are great, it`s often a bit much for early elementary students to tackle an entire PBL Scenario at the start.  Instead, the skills of Problem-Based Learning can best be introduced through short exercises, which have been provided for you.  Click here to learn more about the exercises shown here.
